IT Consultant who recommends that a client should purchase some particular hardware or software to meet a particular requirement. If the recommended system proves to be inadequate for the job, it will be no defense for the IT Consultant to claim that because he didn't build the computers or write the programs then it isn't his fault. His poor recommendation will, very likely, be viewed as negligence and a claim for damages will very likely follow.
